Selena Gomez Releases Inspiring New Tracks: “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look At Her Now”

October 24, 2019

On Wedensday October 23rd, Selena Gomez released an emotional new single depicting her breakup titled “Lose You To Love Me.”  The track was highly anticipated from Selenators since it marks her first official music release since “Wolves” in 2017. Gomez wrote the track as inspiration for her fans to have strength and love themselves, especially if they are facing a traumatic breakup. She empowers her fans with her simplistic and serene lyrics such as “You promised the world and I fell for it/ I put you first and you adored it/ Set fires to my forest and you let it burn/ Sang off key on my chorus ’cause it wasn’t yours.”

There appeared to be a lot of suspicion that the song was written about Justin, which a source from Us Weekly later confirmed. They state that Gomez “was very involved in writing and creating” the track, which “is obviously about Justin.”

However, this wasn’t the only thing Gomez had in store for her fans. On October 24th, she dropped a surprise by releasing a new, fierce track: “Look At Her Now.” This song sharply contrasted with the ballad “Lose You To Love Me.” “Look At Her Now” is more colorful and offers a different, bold vibe to her fans. It focuses on independence and confidence after coming back from a painful breakup, similar to her first track.

Gomez has shared a message to her fans thanking them for their support and motivating them to stay strong as her lyrics in her songs suggest.

Hailey Baldwin Drama

Hailey Bieber (also known as Hailey Baldwin), has come under fire recently for seemingly shading Selena Gomez mere seconds after she released her new tracks. Bieber posted a screenshot of Summer Walker and Jhené Aiko’s song “I’ll Kill You” on her Instagram Stories minutes after Gomez dropped “Lose You To Love Me.”

Selena Gomez responded on Instagram Live by stating to her fans: “I am grateful for the response that the song is getting. I’m so grateful. However, I do not stand for women tearing women down. And I will never, ever be by that. So please be kind to everyone. It doesn’t matter what the situation is. If you’re my fans, don’t be rude to anybody, please.”
