Mustang Football Advances To Playoffs

November 20, 2019

Last Friday, the Cypress Ranch football team won against Round Rock Stony Point, 38-24. Due to this game, Ranch is now able to advance to the playoffs this Saturday. The first playoff game of the season will take place at 3 pm in Waller ISD Stadium Waller, TX, against Klein Oaks High School.

Based off how many games Klein Oak has won (9-2), against Cypress Ranch’s score (8-3), it is evident that this match will be an intense and competitive one to say the least. Both teams have scored over other schools by a landslide, so it is hard to predict whether Ranch or Klein Oaks will be victorious.

“I do feel that the team has worked very hard and has learned a lot about themselves and each other over the course of the season.  As a result, they have most definitely earned their right to be participating in the Texas 6A-Division I State Playoffs,” Coach Manning says.

“This year’s Mustang team had many challenges. For starters, the team is very young and has the smallest senior class in school history with only 27 seniors on the varsity team.  Additionally, they had to adapt and build relationships with almost a completely new coaching staff.”

“All of those things considered, they have done an outstanding job of maintaining Cypress Ranch’s winning ways and we feel confident in our chances to win moving forward.”

“We pride ourselves on focusing on one game at a time and this week our focus is on our opponent, Klein Oak.  As all teams once you advance in the playoffs are, they are a formidable foe, but we are focused on the things we can control and are working very hard to give it our very best effort on Saturday,” Coach Manning says.

If you want to see the game, tickets are on sale now during lunch periods. The school only accepts cash. We hope you will come out to Waller to support the team. Let’s go ‘Stangs!
