Effects Of The Coronavirus

February 14, 2020

Coronavirus, newly named the “COVID-19” disease has recently had an outbreak in Asia specifically starting in the city of Wuhan, China. Traveling to and from Wuhan China has caused the virus to spread rapidly globally.

Originally the virus started in bats, but now it has spread to humans. The disease can also spread from human to human. Coughing, sneezing, or inhaling infected particles can be very contagious. Health officials still haven’t found a cure and it can become very deadly. According to New York Times Over 90,000 people have been affected by the Coronavirus and over 3000 have died due to the illness.

The Coronavirus affects the respiratory system and can cause pain in the chest area. Some symptoms are feeling of fatigue, fever, chills, loss of appetite, or body ache. Almost like common cold symptoms.

U.S health officials are blocking foreign citizens from entering the country if they have recently been to China. Some flights from Wuhan, China entering the U.S  have been cancelled, by doing this it will cause the virus to stop spreading rapidly. Unfortunately the virus has touched every continent except Antarctica.

There have been 92 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus and 5 deaths in the U.S alone according to Fox News. There have been confirmed cases Texas, California, Washington state, Illinois, Arizona, Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Wisconsin, and Rhode Island.

People living in Wuhan have been affected the most since usually the city is busy and it is where the virus first broke out. Since the outbreak, stores have been cleared and so have the streets. When walking in the city of Wuhan you have to be fully covered including wearing masks, gloves, coats, etc. Since there are many reported cases of the virus, a hospital was built overnight strictly for the coronavirus.

The rates of the amount of people being diagnosed with this virus have been sharply increasing. COVID-19 has been recognized as more deadly than the SARS disease. The virus has proven to be deadly and it is concerning since scientists have yet to find a successful cure to control the effects of the Coronavirus. Luckily the virus mainly affects people with weaker immune systems like smaller children or people with underlying health issues.
