On Dec. 17, the Cypress Ranch varsity boys basketball team faced off against Cypress Lakes in its first district game of the season. The Mustangs fell short in a 55-41 rematch to the Spartans and are now 9-8 after beating them earlier this season.
Cy Ranch got off to a slow first half while the offense kicked in during the 4th quarter in a dogfight against a tough Cy Lakes defense.
“Offensively we were sluggish, and we couldn’t really get going and just really not moving,” Coach Mason Huffmeister said.
Huffmeister said the team struggled on some key defensive stops. The Mustangs are getting ready to face Cy Woods as visitors this Friday at 7 p.m. and are looking to secure a conference win.
