On Fri, Jan. 10, the Cypress Ranch Mustangs varsity boys basketball team defeated the Langham Creek Lobos at home 48-33, seeing a stellar performance from starting guard Isaac Saavedra.
Ranch’s star guards Tyler Scheetz and Isaac Saavedra combined for 23 points, but Saavedra stole the show with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. The Mustangs’ starting five was fired up against the Lobos, scoring a majority of the team’s 48 points.
The Mustangs move to 15-10 overall and are tied with both Cy Springs and Cy Park at 4-1 for district standings. The Mustangs have two highly anticipated matchups with both teams in the coming week, first facing off against Cy Springs on Jan. 14.
