On Jan. 23, the Cypress Ranch Mustangs varsity boys basketball team scored a season-high 83 points in their victory over Waller HS.
Though Cypress Ranch was missing its starting guard Tyler Scheetz, the team remained level-headed and four different Mustangs were able to reach double digits in scoring. The Mustangs started strong, setting the tone in the first quarter. Ranch pushed the pace with defensive energy, holding the Bulldogs to just 15 points in the first half.
The Mustangs coasted to a 40-point victory with the final being 83-43. The Mustangs extend their win streak to six games and remain first in district at 18-10 overall. Cypress Ranch is looking for revenge in their upcoming rematch with Cypress Lakes. Lakes is the Mustangs’ sole loss in district and they will face off Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.
