This year, cosmetology junior Mykie Posik was one of a handful of students who qualified for state in cosmetology.
Posik, a dedicated and passionate student, has been working tirelessly in the field of cosmetology year-round. Her journey began with her always being interested in beauty and makeup, which evolved into the passion she now has for cosmetology. Through her hard work, Posik has now qualified for state.
“I am so excited to compete,” Posik said.
Qualifying for the state competition is a big deal for her. Posik has spent countless hours training in her craft, and now her dedication and commitment has paid off, as she now stands among the best in the state.
Posik shares her thoughts on this significant achievement.
“It means that I did a good job in expressing my creative abilities,” Posik said.
Her words reflect the essence of her success and her ability to translate her creativity into tangible results. Her work is not about just following techniques, but about expressing herself and her unique vision to life and making a statement through her artistry.
Posik said she has been supported by the Cypress Ranch High School community, her teachers and fellow classmates.
As she prepares for the state Skills USA competition on April 2-5, she remains focused. The state competition will be a place for her to show her skills on a larger scale, competing against the best students from all across Texas.
Posik expresses how she dreams of pursuing a career in the field of cosmetology.
“When I grow up, I want to be a makeup artist,” Posik said.
She said she is excited for the opportunity to further her skills as well as show the judges just what she is capable of.
