Ranch Wins Homecoming Game, Court Announced

September 16, 2014

Last Friday night, Sept. 12, Cy Ranch went face to face against the Cy Lakes Spartans for the Homecoming football game. The varsity football team came out with a colossal victory, with the final score resulting in a triumphant 32-2.

A tailgating event took place before the game where students could paint up and hang out to show their Mustang pride.  Hundreds of people filled the stands in traditional blue and gold ensembles to support the varsity football team. The sound of bells from mums and garters sounded from the crowd, where students cheered while still wearing their traditional Homecoming pieces.

At halftime, the Classics and band gave a riveting and energetic performance, bringing the spectators to their feet. Following this, the Homecoming King and Queen were announced. Cheers and shouts erupted from the crowd when seniors Dylan Crowley and Lauren Phipps were chosen as this year’s King and Queen.

“It was an honor and an amazing experience,” said Homecoming Queen nominee Kayla Mauldin, on being nominated for the Homecoming court. “Being on the Homecoming court was an awesome aspect to my senior year.”

The triumphant football game and the announcement of the Homecoming King and Queen was a wonderful end to the spirited Homecoming week.
