The Mustangs (13-3) suffered a tough loss this Saturday, Dec. 20 at the UIL Class 6A Division I State Championship in Arlington, ending their record-setting journey to state with a final score of 47-16 against the Allen Eagles (16-0).

The first quarter closed with a 7-7 tie. Allen scored in the first minute, but Cy Ranch remained undaunted and ran a touchdown in the last 12 seconds.

By halftime, Allen secured a lead of 21-10 and kept their advantage up to the end of the fourth quarter, leaving Cy Ranch with a 31-point loss.

Allen remained undefeated for its third consecutive state title, and from the start it was a tough match for Cy Ranch’s 5-year-old varsity program. Nonetheless, this journey to state was an impressive feat for a team so young and new to the scene, and the Mustang Nation is confident that Arlington will face the Mustangs again.
