Swim Teams Place at UIL State Meet

Cy Ranch swim teams came home victorious from the UIL State Swimming and Diving Meet held from Friday, Feb. 20 to Saturday, Feb. 21 in Austin.

In the girls’ state championships, the girls’ swim team placed 21st overall with 38 points. Junior Victoria Roubique grabbed the gold medal for the girls’ 100-meter breaststroke event with a time of 1:03.18.

The boys’ swim teams placed 10th overall with 70 points, with two Cy Ranch boys’ relay teams placing in the top eight.

The boys’ 400 freestyle relay team, made up of freshman Dillon Simpson, sophomore Sean Morey, and seniors Trevor Bartz and Shane Pilkinton, placed sixth with a time of 3:07.74. The boys’ 200 freestyle relay team, made up of Sophomore Sean Morey, junior Norbert Madero, and seniors Trevor Bartz and Shane Pilkinton, placed seventh with a time of 1:29.91.

Overall, this was a great end to an illustrious swimming and diving season.
