UIL District Awards Announced

The long-awaited District UIL meet came this past Friday, Mar. 27 and Saturday, Mar. 28. Over 80 Cy Ranch students arrived at Cy Creek High School, ready to win, and 16 came home with awards.
In Accounting, Vanessa Garcia placed second and Anthony Sziveri placed third. In Calculator Applications, Narayan Desai placed sixth. In Computer Applications, Andrea Graves placed fourth and Diego Ruvalcaba placed sixth.
In Computer Science, Terrence Park placed first, Rahul Zahroof and Patrick Kelly placed fourth, and David Zhou placed sixth. In Number Sense, David Zhou placed second, and Rahul Zahroof placed fourth.
In Science, Narayan Desai placed second. In Social Studies, John Ladd placed sixth.
As a school, Cy Ranch placed first in Accounting and Computer Science, and second in Number Sense and Science. Overall, Cy Ranch placed fifth with 155 points.
The students who placed first, second, or third in their events will advance to the region meet on Saturday, Apr. 25.

I wanted to make mention, that Nikki Thude, a Junior at Cy-Ranch, and Jordan Magee a Senior at Ranch, on March 27th, Won Skills USA, Best in Show for their project in Cosmetology, beating out 100’s of entries. The project was also displayed, but without mention of awards, at the front of the cafeteria for Fashion Night. I’m not sure why this amazing achievement was overlooked or not recognized! I will try and upload pictures!!
