Science Olympiad Competes at State

May 1, 2018

The Cypress Ranch Science Olympiad team competed at the State tournament in College Station, Texas over the weekend of April 20-21.

The team took 15 students to compete at State in both individual and group events. Events included a showcase portion – where students entered and demonstrated their own models of hovercrafts, helicopters, and mousetrap vehicles; as well as testing portion – drilling students on several topics related to science, logic and reasoning. The team has seen major growth in the past few years, and this upward trend is likely to continue.

“Its been great to see the club grow so much in just the last year,” Junior and President of Science Olympiad, Josh Miller says. “We have many dedicated students who improved all year, and we’ve seen this continue at State.”
