Mustang Football Secures Comeback Victory Over Cinco Ranch
September 5, 2018
On Thursday, August 30, Mustang Football came back from an 11 point deficit at halftime against Cinco Ranch High School. Logan McDougald (Jr) knew him and his team had to step it up after a slow start – with less than 50 passing yards, 35 rushing yards and a turnover in the first half.
The Mustangs came out swinging in the second half, with QB Logan McDougald Passing for 152 yards and a touchdown with an outstanding QB rating of 94.8. But McDougald was’t the only one helping the team.
Running Backs Willie Eldridge (jr) and Elias Pino (jr) combined for 129 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Senior Rance McInnis had a stellar defensive performance with 8 tackles.
The Mustangs secured the victory against Cinco Ranch, with a final score of 21-32, to start off with a positive (1-0) record.
This was a great team effort, and hopefully the boys can bring the same pressure when they face the (1-0) Westlake Chaparrals. Westlake’s quarterback, Taylor Anderson, threw for 185 yards with 3 touchdown passes in his last outing. Westlake’s star running back, Tripp Graham, rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown in the same game.
The Mustangs will travel to Austin to play the Westlake Chaparrals this Friday, September 7th, at 7:00 PM.
