September 13, 2018

On Friday, September 7, Mustang Football came back in the second half against Austin Westlake to secure their second victory of the season. Ranch had a tough three quarters – with less than 30 passing yards, 35 rushing yards and defensive struggles.

After Being down 3-21 going into the 4th, the Mustangs knew what they had to do – after being in a similar position in last week’s contest against Cinco Ranch.

The Mustangs stepped into the 4th quarter looking more focused than ever. Starting off the quarter with an outstanding 19 yard Touchdown from QB Logan McDougald, who ended the game with 76 passing yards. Logan Mcdougald wasn’t the only player Westlake had to worry about.

Elias Pino (Jr)  had a great second half with 54 Rushing yards with 2 touchdowns. This was backed up with an outstanding defensive performance from seniors Rance McInnis and Travis Arey, who combined for 18 total tackles

Running backs Elias Pino and Willie Eldridge celebrate after a big-time score late in the 4th.

The Mustangs secured the victory against Westlake with a final score of 25-21, boosting them to a 2-0 record.

It took a great team effort to win this hard-fought game, and hopefully the boys can keep the ball rolling when they face the 0-2 Langham Creek Lobos. Langham’s star running back, Chris Herron, rushed for an impressive 83 yards in their last outing.

The Cypress Ranch Mustangs will head to the Berry Center (CFFCU) to face the Langham Creek Lobos this Thursday, September 13th, at 6:30 PM.
