Meghan Markle Announces Pregnancy with First Child

November 8, 2018

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex; and Prince Harry, her husband, are expecting their first child in the Spring of 2019, according to a social media statement from Kensington Palace on October 15, 2018.

The couple tied the knot recently during a grand ceremony in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England.

The royal family found out about the pregnancy during the wedding of Princess Eugenie of York and Jacks Brooksbank on October 12, at the same place Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were married.

The announcement of the pregnancy garnered little shock from many around the globe, as there is precedent for royalty to have children early in their marriage.

The royal family and Meghan Markle’s family have expressed excitement as they prepare for the arrival of the baby sometime next year.

There are rumors that Markle is carrying twins, but these speculations have not been formally addressed.

The baby will be seventh in the line of succession to the British crown after his father, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.
