Accomplishments at the Ranch Last Week 2/2-2/8

The Cypress Ranch Mustangs experienced many accomplishments last week from sports to competitions to broken records.
The Girls Soccer team lost 5-o to Cy-Woods High School in the evening on Friday, February 7th. Fortunately, they have been strong and resilient, and will bounce back. On the other hand, the Boys Soccer team is looking strong this season as they won against Cy-Woods with a final score of 3-0.
Although the Lady Mustangs Girls Basketball team lost a close game to Cy-Springs, they were still able to hold onto their title of 1st in the district.
Our Future Farmers of America, also known as FFA, persisted and did extremely well this weekend at their livestock show. More information will be available later.
Our Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, also known as FCCLA did extremely well at their region FCCLA conference. All contestants are set to advance to state. Our Mustangs who competed in Cupcake Presentation Level 2 were Sophia Stanton, who gained 3rd place, and Anna Parks, who earned 2nd place. For Cupcake Presentation Level 3, Ana Ibuado earned 5th place, Tony Mitchell earned 2nd place, and Toni Odufuye took home the title of 1st place. Isaiah Gerrard earned 4th places for Mystery Basket, while Danny Carneiro earned 1st place for Fashion Construction Level 2. Katelyn Berard earned 4th place within Fashion Construction Level 3. Fiza lakhani earned 4th place for Fashion Design, and lastly, Natalie Manahan earned 4th place for Repurpose and Redesign Level 2.
At the Speech and Debate competition at Cy-Falls this past weekend, the Mustangs took home many achievements. Tori Peagues earned 1st place for Prose Interpretation, Nneoma Mbjobi earned 3rd place for Oral Interpretation, and Tyler Pham earned 4th place for Extemporaneous Speaking. Mingrui Qain took home 1st place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, qualifying himself for the state championship tournament in March.
This past weekend, Orchestra students competed at UIL!, and medaling a record of 146 times.
In track, Ivan Garcia ran a time of 1:56 for the 800m, Kailyn Thomas earned 2nd in the shot and 3rd in the discuss, and Camryn Clark earned 1st place for the triple. Ke’maya Armstrong broke the track record for the 400m at a 58:47 time.
The Mustang Boys Wrestling team took the district championship, while two girl wrestlers earned 1st place and are set to advance to region.
