The Mustangs started strong with the first touchdown of the game by number 16, junior Joelle Arnett, followed by an interception by senior Ryan Seymour.
Next, the second touchdown was made by number 23, junior Peyton Thomas which brought the score from 7-12 to 13-12.
Additionally, a 21-yard touchdown pass by number 13, senior Brendan Sadler, brought the score closer to Cypress Woods.
The Cypress Woods Wildcats have been district-undefeated all season, which made the game a nail-biting watch. With the scores tied, the game went into overtime.
With high stakes, Cypress Ranch pulled through finalizing the score with 35-34, ending the Wildcats winning streak. Ranch now sits at 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the district.
“Defeating an undefeated team was definitely a great feeling,” senior Matthew Ciers said. “At the end of the game, everyone just ran onto the field and just celebrated together. It was insane.”
