College Night Opens Doors for Students

Kamryn Kobal, Writer

As juniors and seniors kick off their last semesters in high school, they must begin to think about colleges and their plans for the future. While some students come from a long line of Texas A&M or UT alumni, others are the only ones in their family who have even considered college.

However, Cy Ranch is swarming with future engineers and superstars, and the annual College Night gives students a chance to talk to colleges from all over the US.

As the clock struck 5 o’clock on Oct. 1, students began to fill the Berry Center where they were met with firm handshakes and pamphlets brimming with information on the college of their dreams. College representatives from elite schools such as Harvard and Yale chatted with students and their parents, proudly displaying pictures of their college campus.

Booths and rooms were set up where presentations were shown that covered each school’s admission process and accomplishments. Information on scholarships and programs for every major was provided in brochures that was given to every student.

As the successful College Night came to a closing, students and college representatives each left with high hopes and bright plans for the future.
