Seven Cy Ranch varsity volleyball players were named to this year’s All-District 17-6A Volleyball Teams this Monday, Nov. 17. These honors follow the Lady Mustangs’ record-setting journey to Regional Finals on Saturday, Nov. 15, where they advanced to their highest ranking in Ranch history.

Senior Victoria Fuller and junior Alexis Warren were named to the First Team, and seniors Julia Hartley and Kelsey Smith and junior Raquel Harris were named to the Second Team.

Senior Alexis Tarpley and junior Alli Hymel were given honorable mention, and senior Shelly Fanning was named the District 17-6A Most Valuable Player.

The volleyball coaches received honors as well. Coaches Arley Kocher and Candice Silberschatz were named Coaches of the Year.

Kocher said the team’s honors were more than deserved.

“I am beyond proud of this team and everything they have accomplished this year,” said Kocher. “To go from not making the playoff cut last season to regional finalists this season just goes to show how hard they worked and how determined they were.”
