Art Students Sew Stockings For Kids

Kamryn Kobal, Writer

The art students and PALS of Cy Ranch seem to understand the true meaning of Christmas this year.

For the past month, the Art I students have been designing, sewing, and stuffing stockings that they eventually donated to inner city kids.To deliver the stockings, the art department worked with Small Steps Nurturing Center, a non-profit Christian preschool that provides free daycare and love to economically at-risk children in the downtown Houston area.

The students worked diligently for the past month, stitching each stocking with love. They spent time after school, stuffing the stockings with toys and candies as well as waking up early on a Saturday morning to bring joy to the children who need it most.

The Small Steps Nurturing Center website lists many different ways you can get involved, especially around this time of year when we are reminded of the importance of giving. The Cy Ranch art students no doubt did their part in carrying out the Christmas spirit.
