Girls Dominate against Foster and Jersey Village

Girls soccer took on the Foster Falcons out of Lamar ISD on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in preparation for their upcoming district play. This was the last non-district match of the regular season for Ranch, and the Mustangs successfully kept the momentum that they had gained in the 1-0 win against Klein Collins the previous week.

Sophomore Mackenzie Smith and the Mustangs were able to put the ball in the back of the net within two minutes of the game’s start. The scoring didn’t stop there, as juniors Ashton Allison, Allie Deleon, and Jessica Gerow notched 1 goal each in the contest. Junior Alexis Warren earned herself a clean sheet and the Mustangs dismantled Foster by a score of 4-0.

Next up for the girls was a match against the Jersey Village Falcons. The only meeting between the teams last year ended in a 1-0 win for Cy Ranch. Junior Varsity was able to win in a dominating fashion and the same was expected from varsity. They were able to fulfill expectations and capture a 1-0 win with the lone goal coming from Gerow.

The Mustangs now sit in a tie for first place in district.
