Choir Shines at Encore

The Cy Ranch auditorium was awash with music this past Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31 as the choir took to the stage to perform their annual Encore Pop Show. These talented singers worked diligently all year to prepare for the show, making for a memorable night for both the students and their families.

The theme of this year’s show was “Road Trip,” with the choir singing songs like “Walking on Sunshine” and “Drive My Car” to fit the mood.

Throughout the night, there were a variety of performances from combined choirs, solo acts, and duets from students, such as seniors Ashley McRae and Cheyenne Revello, who sang “Something Bad.” The Concert Men’s version of “Fun, Fun, Fun” by the Beach Boys also shook the house with laughter and applause.

For the seniors, this night was especially emotional, as it marked their last performances on stage.   The seniors lit up the auditorium with their rendition of “Proud Mary” with all of the combining choirs joining them in the aisles for the final verse.

“Performing in front of everyone for the last time with my best friends is something I’ll always remember,” Revello said.

Overall, this show was definitely one road trip that shouldn’t have been missed.
