Come check out the endless opportunity offered at the Career Fair, which takes place at the Berry Center from 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. All CFISD students from grades 6-12 are welcome to come and explore an abundance of different career options, and learn from all kinds of professionals about what it’s like to hold a job in a specific field.

Besides gaining knowledge about what you may be interested in pursuing, you will be able to learn about what kind of education is required in your field of choice. Find out if you can take part in high school prerequisite courses, apprenticeships, and internships. You can also learn what degree may be needed for your career choice.  Knowing how you can prepare now for your future can increase your chances of success later.

Along with learning about a wide variety of career choices, you can also hear personal accounts of what it’s like to work in a specific field. You can learn what the interview process is like, what to expect when it comes to everyday tasks, what your hours would be, what the average salary is at the position, how to advance from that position, and what to do after your career. Being able to talk to someone who works in a specific field can affect your career choice.

Overall, the purpose of this event to better prepare you for your future after high school, and to help you investigate the many options you have. It’s always good to research a specific industry or field of work before jumping in blind!
