The Cy Ranch gym was abuzz with activity and transformed into a sea of color-coordinated handmade team uniforms last Friday, Apr. 12, as a large portion of the student population filled the bleachers to take part in Winning for Whitaker.

The field day was a tournament-like set up that consisted of various games and events that took place to raise money for Special Education teacher Dean Whitaker’s battle against cancer. All proceeds of the event went to help relieve Whitaker’s hospital bills and procedures.

In all, 16 teams turned out to participate in the games, creating an impenetrable atmosphere of fun and camaraderie.
